FEATURED PROJECT

La Jolla, California

La Jolla, California

Skyline Sunrooms had the honor of designing and constructing a stunning contemporary patio cover for a return client in La Jolla, California.  The patio cover is attached to the home and covers an outdoor sitting area that features beautiful patio furniture, a TV, fire pit, and a barbecue area.  When asked how they chose a specific style of patio cover, the homeowner stated, “We desired a [solid] covered outdoor space. We can now use the space regardless of rain, shine, or wind.”  In fact, that’s what they love most about their new outdoor space – “the ability to enjoy the space [even] when it’s raining.”

Prior to the installation of the patio cover, the homeowners had extended their patio, removed some landscaping to accommodate the size and shape of the cover, repainted the exterior of the home, increased the size of the privacy wall behind the barbecue, and built a matching wood wall for the TV.

When designing a patio cover, it’s important to visualize how you plan to use the space. The homeowners wanted to create an atmosphere “that was functional for all events and gatherings,” as they enjoy using their outdoor space for barbecues, entertaining, watching sporting events, and lounging.  The only two items on their “must have” list were ambient lighting and a solid roof – both of which were accomplished with an insulated roof design with recessed lighting.

We are thrilled when we get the opportunity to work with homeowners on multiple projects because it shows that they trust our expertise and love the finished product.  This is the third patio cover that Skyline has had the privilege of building for this couple, and their appreciation of our team’s high standards and level of care is what makes us love what we do!
